This makes me even more excited for @libbabray’s The Diviners! *sigh*
I read this over the long weekend. It was really, really, really good. Very ambitious, very clever, very atmospheric and fascinating. Imperfect, at-times-selfish main character (Evie), which was refreshing, considering how just when you were at the end of your tether with her, the story twists and she’s suddenly so sympathetic. I liked this A LOT. It’s a big book, but it’s so worth the time investment.
The description doesn’t (and I don’t know how it could) really capture how truly compelling and actually quite scary this book is (at times; mostly the end). Highly recommended.
